Keith Muir’s Personal Bio
I have been an avid baseball fan my entire life. My love of the game began in my childhood watching ballgames on an old television with a fuzzy picture. It quickly grew into collecting baseball cards, attending professional games, and playing in baseball little league. As I got older, I began to see the parallels between the game of baseball and life. Baseball taught me many important lessons that I have applied to my life, including working as a team, having a strong work ethic, dealing positively with pressure, building and maintaining a winning culture, and most importantly, appreciating the moment.
We sometimes fail to notice and take for granted all the blessings we enjoy in life and how valuable each moment really is. For example, there have only been twenty-three perfect games in baseball history. A perfect game is 27 straight outs without allowing a baserunner. It is an incredibly difficult feat for a starting pitcher and it cannot be accomplished without the help of his fellow teammates. A perfect game is a rare and magical moment. The game of baseball has taught me to cherish these magical moments.
What attracts me to financial planning is the ability to help people achieve their most important goals and dreams while appreciating each moment of the journey. As in baseball, working together toward a common goal is the recipe for a winning team. A strong team will always accomplish much more than the individual. Whether you follow baseball or not, the lessons reflected in the game can be applied to all facets of life and are a constant reminder to live life to its fullest.
