Personal Bio

It is my belief that we should never stop learning and never stop growing. A few of the events in my life that have shaped this belief include being the first person in my family to graduate from college, volunteering, and completing my first half marathon.

Each of these events has influenced my commitment to lifelong learning in different ways. From college I learned that I could accomplish a goal if I worked hard and asked for help when I needed it. Volunteering taught me that when you give your time and knowledge, you get a lot more in return. As for the half marathon, I have never been a runner, but I decided to sign up to run 13.1 miles because I wanted to challenge myself. Completing the half marathon taught me that I have the ability to accomplish things that I did not think were possible.

All of these events have taken me out of my comfort zone. They were each a little scary and nerve-wracking in their own way, but they each offered some of the best opportunities for me to push myself and grow as a person. I now look for ways to take myself out of my comfort zone, knowing that it will reap rewards in the end. This has led me to completing the Tough Mudder at Northstar and joining Toastmasters.

The financial planning profession also allows for many opportunities to continually learn. I have the opportunity to learn about investments, insurance and taxes, and also learn about people, hear their stories, and get to know what is important to them.
